Taken to a foster home & later brought to Minneapolis & lived in the Lutheran Children's Friend Society Receiving Home. Baptized 6/19/42 in chapel there by Rev. E.B. Glabe who was Executive Secretary of LCFS. July 10, 1942 was taken to a foster home until adopted 11/25/42. |

Took special courses in electricity, auto mechanics, & civil service course. Was employed as a carpenter & did contracting. Mother's mother was born in Czechoslovakia & came to US when 1 year old. Completed 1 year high school & 3 years Bohemian School. Rather plump, dark woman with round face. Birth mother's paternal grandfather killed in accident at 52. He was a farmer. Her grandmother died at 75 of obstruction of bowels. On of birth mother's paternal uncles died of flu at 21. Birth mother's maternal grandfather 70 in 1942, had diabetes. |
