Other Info My father's name is Richard Henry Smythe and his date of birth is 28-02-1917.He was known to everyone as Dick. He was brought up in Ireland (not sure which area but he was a Protestant). We think that he may have moved to England either shortly before or after the Second World War. He died in Summer of 1991 at home in Northfield, Birmingham, UK. I have reason to believe that my mother is not my natural birth mother. The mother who raised me is Ivy Ethel Smythe (nee Price)born on or around 30-04-between 1917 and 1920. My father had one sister (Gwendolyn Price) and a step-brother called John Glass who I believe is still alive. Gwendolyn died at early adulthood. The mother who raised me (Ivy Ethel) was a nurse during the second world war but I am not sure whether she was in England or Abroad at that time. Dick was a friendly and outgoing person who found it easy to get on with people. He often used to drink in The Bell Public House in Northfield, Birmingham, where he would play dominoes (especially on Saturday mornings). He also used to like having a bet on the Horses at a Bookies in Northfield.
