Other Information Female born 7/17/58 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Ga. Adoption was handled by private attorney, Mr. Sol Clark. According to the non-id. information obtained by Ms. Sandra Milhollin of the Georgia Dept. of Human Resources in Atlanta, GA, this is the information we have: Born: 7/17/58 Place of birth: Savannah, Georgia , Chatham County Hospital: St. Joseph's Hospital Weight and Height: 6lbs. 10oz. Ht. 19 1/2 Birthmothers Name: Unknown Birthmothers Age at this birth: 29 Birthmothers Religion: Protestant Birthfathers Name: Unknown Birthfathers Age at this birth: Unknown Birthfathers Religion: Roman Catholic Siblings: 4 Birthmothers Attorney: Mr. Sol Clark Adopted by: Barbara and Raymond Hudson of Atlanta, GA Adoption Petition: Dated October 22, 1958 to DeKalb County Superior Court from DeKalb County Department of Public Welfare Adoption Petition # A14,708 Final Order of Adoption: No.1255 DeKalb Superior Court, dated May 15, 1959. Signed by H.O. Hubert, Jr. Judge, Stone Mountain Circuit The birthmother released this child to the Adopted parents when she was one day old. According to the Attorney the child was born after the natural mother had secured her divorce. She claimed the child's father was her ex-husband who forced his attentions on her when she came to visit her children. He does not know of this child's birth, nor does his name appear on the child's birth record. According to Mr. Sol Clark, Attorney-at-Law, in Savannah, Georgia, the birthmother came to him requesting his help in placing her child with this couple. (She had heard through an acquaintance at the hotel where she was staying that they were anxious to adopt a child). The attorney acting as intermediary for the petitioners made arrangements for her care and expenses during confinement and delivery. The natural mother, immediately after birth, returned to her home state leaving no forwarding address. The natural mother gave the attorney the information that she was divorced from her husband over religious difficulties, he being Roman Catholic and she Protestant; that custody of the four children of this union had been awarded to their natural father; that her ex-husband was also the father of this child, (conceived and born after their divorce) but that he has no knowledge of the child's existence. It is also stated in the Adoption Petition that this child was born with a Systolic murmur that seems to be diminishing in intensity over the three visits. The adopted father was vice-president of Acrow Corp. of America and 36 at the time of this adoption. Barbara Hudson was 24 yrs. old at the time of this adoption.
