| My mother is still alive but refuses to talk about her adoption. I am 51 and she is 76. The only info that I have I got from my mom's mother that adopted her, my grandma, when I was young. I don't know how accurate it is, but, supposedly my mom came from a farm family by the name of Morgan around Abilene Kansas. Her mother was unwed and 14 years old so her father made her give the baby (my mom) up. I also remember as a very young child going by an area in Kansas City Missouri and my mom pointing out that she was born there. I believe now that might have been a home for unwed mothers. My mom was raised by 2 wonderful people in Kansas City Missouri. My mom's adopted parents are no longer living so I can't get any information from them and, like I said, my mom refuses to talk about her adoption. I live in Alma Kansas which is only a couple hours East of Abilene. It's a constant, lonely reminder to me that I more than likely have relatives "right out my back door". If anyone has any information I would appreciate it greatly! I have been looking for this missing piece of my puzzle all my life! Thank you! Bobbi |
