Other information.
According to the information in my now un-sealed birth/adoption file, there were 2 judges who participated in my adoption and name change. The Petition for Adoption and Change of Name was Howard C Davison. The Order Setting Date for Hearing and Appointing Investigator was: Victor H Lindsey. The file number at the top of these documents is: 35 312. I am assuming that 142 60 127293 is some kind of case or state file number. There was a Rev.J.F.Nix assigned by the court to investigate as to whether or not my adopted parents would be OK to adopt me and to verify that my birth mothers circumstances. I know from both the birth record at Iraan General Hospital and the adoption file that my birth mother had another child prior to my birth and that she had been married and was either going through the divorce when she got pregnant with me or after the divorce was final. Also, there was a Mrs. Milam (who owned and ran Milam Children's Centers/Schools and I think a Milam's Home for Un-Wed mothers) involved in my adoption. Mrs Milam was the neighbor of the Rev. Nix and was also a friend of my adopted parents. She was like a surrogate grandmother to myself and adopted sister until her death. The attorney who handled my adoption was Roy Bass and he was also a good friend to my adopted parents and also to Mrs. Milam as I recall. Through the years I know that Mrs. Milam would give "reports" about my birth mother to my parents (mostly my father) and that when that info.trickled down to me it was not in such a way as to be favorable towards my birth mother. One of the comments that was made by Mrs. Milam to my father was that my birth mother let men abuse her. I was told many times via my father that Mrs.Milam would often comment on how much I looked like my birth mother. Since my daughter and I are often mistaken for sisters I have to think that the family resemblence is very strong. I have blonde hair, blue eyes, fair skin and am somewhat stocky in build as is my daughter. We both have gaps between our two top front teeth as dose my granddaughter. I am left handed.
