Other information.
Unfortunately I do not have a lot of information regarding my adoption. My adoption took place back in the early 1970's, and my current family did not work with an agency. They worked directly with an orphange in Seoul, Korea. My adopted father was an officer in the Marine Corp and he and his family was stationed in Seoul for 2 years where they met me. I was around 8 years of age, and I think I was in the orphange for about 4 years. I am not sure of that. I know this is not a lot of information to go on. The reason I am interested in finding out about my birth family at this stage in my life is because I think I should know. I never felt like I needed to know, nor do I feel that desperate now. I am however curious. As I age, I think I should have a better knowledge of my medical background. I do not have any health problems now, but I want to prepared. The name of the orphange is Hye Shim Won, and it is near the Hilton Hotel in Seoul. Back in 1994, I attended Yonsei University to learn Korean language, culture, and history. While I was there, I looked the orphange with a help of one of the professors and visited with Mrs. Rhim who was the lady who owned and ran the orphange. I'm not sure if she is still alive. Fortunately she remenbered me. Unfortunately, she didn't have any information to enlighten me. My adopted parents have no real information for me as well. My mother tells me that I was left at the door step of the orphange when I was a baby. I remember something completely different. Maybe I am dillusional from the trauma of the orphange, but I seem to recall going to visit the orphange with an aunt all the time. Until one day, she told me I was to stay there indefinitely. I don't know why I remember that when my mother tells me otherwise. Well, there it is in a nutshell. You asked for other information, and here it is, that's all I have.
