My birth mother came back to get me before the adoption was final in Indiana County. She was said to be young and strikingly beautiful. I was probably one of the only African American children born on that day and up for adoption. I was placed with Charles and Ruth Lewis until I was adopted by George and Susie Mason in Armstrong County. |

It is rumored by my foster parents that my birthmother came back to get me but was told that the adoption was already final. I was born in Latrobe Hospital in PA. I was placed with a white foster family (Charles and Ruth Lewis) in Seward, PA until I was adopted by George and Susie Mason at RD#1 Rural Valley PA. My birthdate is October 29, 1964. An African American girl (probably the only one born in that hospital and up for adoption). |
