Other Info There is NOT a record of my adoption in the State of Michigan. I know that my birth grandmothers first name was Evelyn, and she worked as a dishwasher in a restaurant in the 9300 block of Kercheval in 1950 & 1951. I tried to find the hospital records for East Side General Hospital, but they are lost. I am not positive, but I think my birth mothers last name was Balers at the time of my birth. I also know that I have younger siblings. I was told that my birth mother married several years after my birth, and had children from that marriage. In May 2007, I was told that if I ordered my birth certificate from Herman Keifer, and they sent it to me that there was not a record of my adoption because all ammended birth certificates have to go through Lansing. So I ordered my birth certificate from Herman Keifer, and got it. All of my suspicions about there not being a record of my adoption are true. I also spoke to the son of the doctor that delivered me, and I mentioned that I did not believe that my adoption was legal. He chuckled, and said that they did things like that back then. So the only way that I will find my family is if they are looking for me. I pray daily that they are looking, and won't give up. Where ever my family is... Please know that I love you, and I hope that we find eachother.
