II'm an adoptee female (adopted at 4 days old) searching for a sister that I have heard was also adopted at birth. I was born in 1963, and my sister was born between approx. 1959-1961. Our birth mother (then SHIRLEY KAY SCHAFER, maiden GARRARD) was in her mid to late twenties when my sister was born, and married in the middle of a divorce. Her husband then (RAY SCHAFER) was in the Navy, and had been stationed in Hawaii. My sister was not his child, but was given his last name due to the fact the birth mother was still married to him. He signed papers during the divorce to say that the child wasn't his. The child's name at birth or shortly after could have either been ELIZABETH, SUSAN, or BABY GIRL/GIRLE. At the time of my birth (and possibly my sister's also) our birth mother was working for a Coroner's office in California for Chuck Zimmerman. She was also good friends/had a relationship with a male Probation Officer in California. I have found all of our relatives pretty much...EXCEPT for this missing sister who was the only one adopted out as I was. ANY and ALL info would be greatly appreciated. |
