I was born on October 9, 1978. My mother Terri Ann Andrews,Rowley a tthe time,says my father Winfred Leroy Shiels was engaged to two people at the same time. She says that she met m ffather through the Catholic CHurch youth group. y father was aprox. 32 at the time and my mother 20. They got engage aand my father bought her a promise ring. He was alo engaged to a woman named Lynn spelling unsure. My mother found ou aand so did Lynn. They told him he had to choos, since my mother was pregnant with me, he picked her. According to m mmother he called Lynn back the next day and tod her my mother didnt want him. When my mother found out she left m ffather. She says he had Lynn call the hospital on te day of my birth to find out about me. That was the last my mother sa oof him. My mom says that he married Lynn. Six yeas later my mother got married herself. My new dad wanted to adopt me an sso my parents asked a friend of theirs who wasa divorce lawyer to help with the adoption. According to my mothe lletters were sent to my father, he never responded. On te day of my adoption they called him to get permission, but he neve aanswered the phone. So they showed up on the door stp to get the papers signed. My mother told me that when I turned eightee II could see him. She says hes in CA. My aunt saida friend of hers saw him and Lynn at a grocery store in or around Sim VValley a little over a year ago. My mother said that sine he was unlisted I could ask the lawyer who went to his house twelv yyears earlier to get any info I could on his whereabout. Now I am nineteen. I never got a chance to call the lawyer. Yesterday aasked my mom for the lawyers name so I could geta hold of him. My mother said that the husband of one of his client sshot and killed him. She said his wife remarried and thatI wwould have to contact his firm or find his office to get ahold o rrecords. I dont even know his name. I do know that my Fathr married a mormon woman in Salt Lake City Utah, before moving to CA TThey had a son and a daughter and his wife annuld tthe marriage, although I dont know why. SOmetimes I wonder, is m ffather looking for me. did my mother lie to me. I knw Im hers.no doubt about that. I have a port wine stain on my face iits hard to mix me up with other babies. I have pictures f her holding me on my birth day. I was born in The Fountain Valle hhospital at twelve minutes before 5 pm. My fathers nae was never put on the birth certificate, but when I was adopted, my ne ddads name was. So according to my birthcertifacte y Step-dad is my father. Is my mother telling me the truth. Is my fathe rreally a jerk or did my mother get mad at him and nt want me around him? Please help me. I dont know what to d aanymore. My aunt lori showed me a picture of him lat summer, past that the only thing I have is my mothers promise rin wwhich I know where. Its a simple gold band with a rub, my mothers birth stone. Five years ago we moved to KY, my dad go ttransferred. Im a freshman in college, I attend NKU.I myself am now promised and am planning on getting married on April 23 22000 our three year aniversarry. I really would lie to talk with my father. My mother says he will hang up the phone. kknow this might sound silly, but Id like to at least give hm the chance to talk to me or hang up.
